SALVAJE/ WILD THING
La obra comienza con un mensaje inentendible que ha dejado el público de la función anterior, para el público de la función en curso. Acto seguido, tres personas practican el juego de hacer “cuerpo” las imágenes bidimensionales de la pantalla de una computadora. El público nunca ve la pantalla. Ellos buscan los mil y un modos de representar el cuerpo y devolverle así su "aura" perdida en la era de los ceros y unos. Realizan interminables búsquedas que los llevan a donde nunca quisieron ir. Terminan enredados en "resultados" y "videos sugeridos" que los dejan justo frente a lo que podría llamarse "el teatro del futuro". El final nunca es el mismo: la obra termina con un mensaje del público presente para el público de la siguiente función.
¿Existe algo que podríamos llamar “políticas de la animalidad”? ¿Cuántas horas por día “trabaja” un orangután para su supervivencia? ¿Y nosotros? ¿Puede existir un teatro animal? ¿Cómo sería?
En una era signada por la experiencia informacional, visual, veloz pero sobre todo mediática, la obra propone pensar y sentir la relación entre el cuerpo y la imagen. SALVAJE no presenta conclusiones, ya que es ella misma un proceso. Y en su devenir genera resultados o instancias de discusión que impactan más allá del ámbito de la ficcionalidad.

The theater
is an oracular ritual.
Where were horses
are now performers.
What is natural?
One kilo of imported oranges?
A gorilla in a gorilla´s costume?
A city ocuppied by elephants and giraffes?
Wild thing researchs the categories that found the contemporary life and the myths wich support it since the Modernity. The rationality as moral. The science as authority. The market and the “civilization” as way of social and simbolic organization.
Is this natural?
The design come from the sculpture,
and the sacred materialize into the goods.
Wild thing aims to desnaturalize the idea of natural, exposing the discursive and propagandistic mechanisms that legitimize what we consume, what we wish, what we are afraid of. Since Enlightenment already, the distinction culture-nature poured onto the dichotomy civilization-barbarism, in wich the cultural becomes natural and the progress is the natural destination of the man. There is no cathegory that would not be culturally created neither politically naive. How are named this so classic and modern constructions then today? How are they resignified and reconfigured in the era of globalization, when the capitalism justify a digital life and its way of communication and production?
How many hours per day do an orangutan work for his survival? And you?
Wild thing is an artistic investigation that does not affirm a conclusion. In a time of many crisis, this work opens the door to question our beliefs and the future that we are constructing.
